We are your dynamic, innovative, and family-oriented manufacturer of custom paper transport protection, based in the heart of Europe, in Polch, Germany.1 Since our founding in 2009 by Dmitri Balsam, UPA PACK has grown from a regional three-person company into a leading European manufacturer—a development that makes us proud and reflects our passion for paper.3

Edge Protection

As the market leader in Europe, our corner protectors and related products provide optimal protection for the corners and edges of your products during transport and storage.1

Cardboard tubes

Whether as sturdy winding cores for your roll materials or as secure shipping tubes—our spiral-wound tubes are suitable for every application.1

Blanks

From covers to interlayers—with the right custom-cut pieces, your products are fully protected against damage or contamination.1

Profiles

For particularly delicate surfaces and edges, our flat and U/L profiles offer the right specialized protection.1

That is why we focus on customized transport protection solutions.1 Thanks to our flexible production 8 we manufacture protective products that are precisely tailored to your goods. For you, this means: optimal protection, minimized transport risk, and efficient processes.

We are firmly committed to Germany as a business location. Our products are manufactured exclusively at our plant in Polch— “Made in Germany” is a promise of quality for us.3 This not only enables us to maintain seamless quality control and high standards, but also secures jobs and promotes the training of young talent in the region.3 This local presence, combined with our Europe-wide focus, guarantees you reliability and short delivery times.1

We don't just follow trends—we set them.1 One example of this is our innovative U/L profiles. We supply these to you in a space-saving L-profile configuration. One side of the profile is rigid, while the other can be easily folded up for use thanks to a pre-cut groove.7 This not only saves on storage and shipping costs during delivery but also makes handling easier and allows for flexible adaptation to your packaged goods right on site.7 In addition, we offer a wide range of customization options, such as colored cover sheets, water-repellent PE coatings, or self-adhesive features, to tailor the protection perfectly to your needs.7

Sustainability at the Core: Responsibility for Our Environment

For us, sustainability is not just a passing trend, but an integral part of our corporate philosophy and a responsibility we take seriously.1 Our commitment to the environment is reflected in concrete actions throughout our entire value chain:

100% recycled paper

We manufacture our edge protectors, sleeves, cut-to-size pieces, and profiles exclusively from 100% recycled paper.6 In doing so, we conserve valuable natural resources such as wood and water and make an active contribution to the circular economy.1

Waste prevention

Our guiding principle is: “Waste prevention comes before waste disposal.” We are proud to have one of the lowest waste rates in our industry. We consistently recycle unavoidable production scraps and offcuts or dispose of them properly.11 This not only reduces waste but also optimizes our resource efficiency.

Renewable Energy

We installed a solar power system back in 2013, during the construction of our facility.11 This system allows us to generate a significant portion of our electricity needs ourselves—in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way. We feed surplus energy into the public grid, thereby contributing to a positive environmental footprint.11

Award-winning sustainability: Our FSC® certification

Our commitment to sustainability is not just a promise—it is officially recognized. We have been FSC®-certified (FSC® C151301) since September 2019.11 This certification, audited by TÜV Nord, confirms that we meet the Forest Stewardship Council®’s strict requirements regarding raw material sourcing, production, and operational processes.11
