As a successful, modern, and above all innovative company, we are committed to protecting the environment while maintaining and guaranteeing the highest standards of quality. To do our part for environmental protection, we use valuable resources very sparingly. As a logical consequence of this self-imposed commitment, we manufacture our products exclusively from 100% recycled paper.
In line with the principle that waste prevention takes precedence over waste disposal, we boast one of the lowest waste rates in the industry. Unavoidable waste and scrap are either recycled or disposed of properly.
As a visible symbol of our commitment to the environment and future generations, we installed a solar power system on our company building back in 2013, during the construction phase. This allows us to generate a significant portion of our energy needs ourselves in an environmentally friendly way. Any excess energy is fed into the public grid and, thanks to its positive environmental impact, benefits the general public.
Since September 2019, UPA PACK has been offering products that comply with the international FSC® standard. Following an audit by the TÜV Nord certification body, we have been certified as meeting the FSC® standard’s requirements for raw material sourcing, production, and operational processes.
Depending on the type of FSC® label, our customers can tell whether the product comes from FSC®-certified forest management, is made entirely from recycled material (post-consumer recycled material), or is made from a mix of raw materials.
To obtain FSC® certification, a wide range of criteria must be met. These criteria relate, on the one hand, to the procurement of raw materials and, on the other hand, to internal company processes concerning the further processing of raw materials, the labeling of finished goods, and the information provided in delivery and invoice documents.
